Used to be in the military. After I quit... [ there's a pause ] I don't know. Seemed like the best move.

You'd be surprised how many people need shit done and don't have anyone who can do it. I've gotten plenty of odd jobs traveling around.

A lot of them are escort jobs or getting rid of fiends, stuff like that. Or easy things, like finding lost animals and wrangling kids and drunk back home. But there's some pretty wild ones too. One guy hired me to win his collector's card back after he lost it in a card game. Kid paid me to win some races for his ranch as a jockey when I turned out to be pretty good at it. Depends on what they need.

Ah. [just. ah.] So stuff that's too dangerous for them to deal with, or... just stuff they don't want to deal with themselves.

Do you enjoy them? The jobs you take, I mean.

Depends on the job, I guess. Most of 'em aren't bad, and if I really don't like the work, I can just... not take it.
