Puzzle might be more likely. If there was an access panel or button, you'd think someone would've found it accidentally by now.

Didn't see anything in any of the other buildings that seemed part of a puzzle, either.

Probably whatever's making us go back is what's causing the fog in the first place. Dissipating it would be our best shot, but...

Yeah, a lot of people lost access to some of their skills. [ MAGIC!!! WHERE ARE YOU. ] Maybe something like wind could do something about this, but... if it's an enchanted fog, maybe not.

Yeah. Whole thing paints a pretty grim picture. And there's not much to do against it.
